Richie Witt - why all of the political stances?

It seems every time I read something from Witt he always has to inject some BS about a social or political position he has. Is this a sports forum or is it a forum to allow him to shout his position without rebuttal? I prefer that he just stick to sports and leave his other views out of the equation.
