I like one callers idea to trade Brunson to the Knicks to get back our pick.

I think getting back that pick is so important and i would even give up an unprotected 2027 pick to them just to get that pick back.

It means next summer we can use picks and pick swaps to get another big piece like Beal or Lavine.

Would you give up Brunson & 2027 unprotected pick to get our 2023 pick back???

I don’t think anyone would be shocked by this, but you’d think more guys would want to hitch their wagon to Luka, given how good he already is at a young age. Unfortunately, winning isn’t always the top priority for some of these guys. Lowry already having won a championship likely plays a factor there.

The Knicks love Brunson so much that I honestly don’t think the Mavs would have to give up a future pick to do that. Brunson’s production last year tells me he should be worth a first if the Mavs want to go that route. It would definitely open up more doors for them in the trade market for sure.

I'd love this trade because they need to do something and getting a first for Brunson would be a great start. I don't want to go into next season with essentially the same team.

So CBAMAVS on Twitter has the best idea the mavs operating above cap allows them to sign a Lowry type plus THJ, MLE, & BAE (Sterling). With Lowry seeming to prefer Miami, the Nets being so far in the tax (Dinwiddie), the Spurs probably preferring to use cap to sign better than any Mavs S&T offer Powell+ (Derozan) who could be the guys we could possibly S&T for to get to this place? Norm P, Lonzo etc or do you think we could work out a deal with Nets or Spurs?
